Hebrew and Aramaic translation of this text: At that time there was a well known prisoner whose name was Jesus Barabbas KJV, and most English translations: And they had then a notable prisoner named Barabbas Forgive me for being a linguist but doesn't [ bar=son and abbas= god] Jesus Son of God...which one did they crucify? Sorry to give the atheist more ammunition but we kinda set ourselves up for this one by translating Matthew into Greek and then somehow losing the original version. I smell a rat! I would love for someone to explain this to me! For asking a question? I didn't change the text--they did. I'm sorry if I noticed and you didnt! A. 27 16 And he had then a notorious prisoner that was called Barabbas. habebat autem tunc vinctum insignem qui dicebatur Barabbas "In the Christian narrative of the Passion of Jesus, Barabbas, according to some texts Jesus bar-Abbas, (Aramaic: - , Bar-abba, "son of the father"), was the insurrectionary whom Pontius Pilate freed at the Passover feast in Jerusalem." There were not two Saviours but two men possibly both called Jesus. One Jesus and the other (Jesus) Barrabas. One man opposed the Roman govt by an insurrection the other opposed them with a non violent "turn the other cheek" principle. I know Abba to mean "father" not "God". The Bible is very clear as to which one was crucified. The leader of the 12 apostles. There is more… [cont.]
