Christmas or Christmas Day is a holiday held on December 25 to commemorate the birth of Jesus, the central figure of Christianity. The date is not known to be the actual birth date of Jesus, and may have initially been chosen to correspond with either the day exactly nine months after some early Christians believed Jesus had been conceived, the date of the winter solstice on the ancient Roman calendar, or one of various ancient winter festivals. Christmas is central to the Christmas and holiday season, and in Christianity marks the beginning of the larger season of Christmastide, which lasts twelve days.

Although a Christian holiday, Christmas is also widely celebrated by many non-Christians, and some of its popular celebratory customs have pre-Christian or secular themes and origins. Popular modern customs of the holiday include gift-giving, music, an exchange of greeting cards, church celebrations, a special meal, and the display of various decorations; including Christmas trees, lights, garlands, mistletoe, nativity scenes, and holly. In addition, Father Christmas (known as Santa Claus in some areas, including North America, Australia and Ireland) is a popular folklore figure in many countries, associated with the bringing of gifts for children.

Because gift-giving and many other aspects of the Christmas festival involve heightened economic activity among both Christians and non-Christians, the holiday has become a significant event and a key sales period for retailers and businesses. The economic impact of Christmas is a factor that has grown steadily over the past few centuries in many regions of the world.

What kinds of Christmas tree themes do you see when you are shopping in the mall?
Q. I LOVE Christmas shopping and I love seeing the beautiful Christmas trees that are on display when I am shopping,I still don't know how to tell what theme a tree is by seeing how it is decorated. What kinds of themes do you see while you are shopping for Christmas gifts,do you ever see a Christmas tree that has the same kind of theme as your Christmas tree you have at home?

A. The tree at my house doesn't really have a theme. I decorate it with ornaments that were made by my sister and I when we were younger, ornaments my great grandmother crocheted and ornaments that my family has collected over the years. Most of the trees that I see in stores don't have themes, with the exception of the tree at Cracker Barrel. They usually decorate their trees with rustic decorations (i.e. black bears, wooden ornaments, etc.). I have never really thought to pay much attention to trees decorated in shops, but I will now. :)

How can you give a great Christmas aroma or odor to your home if you don't have a genuine Christmas tree?
Q. If you want to odorize your home with a great accent of pine tree aroma all you have to do is look for cutted pine tree branches at the store who sells them. You put them in areas next to the entrance door or if you have a silk Christmas tree, inset them in between open spaces. These branches smell terrific and people might think you have a real tree.
