How's this?
Q. Greek Mathematician Finds Circumference of the Earth Eratosthenes of Cyrene used geometry to find the circumference of the Earth. He became the director of the Great Library in Alexandria, after studying in Alexandria and Athens. At the Great Library in Alexandria, he read about a deep vertical well near Syene in Southern Egypt. It was there that once a year at noon, on the day of the summer solstice, that the sun was directly overhead of the well, with its rays shinning directly into it. This date that this occured was June twenty-first. He placed a vertical post at Alexandria, north of Syene, and measured the angle of the shadow on the exact date and time. Assuming that the Earth is round and that the sun s rays are essentially… [cont.]

When was Jesus born according to the Bible?
Q. Luke 1:1-4: 1 Forasmuch as many have taken in hand to set forth in order a declaration of those things which are most surely believed among us, 2 Even as they delivered them unto us, which from the beginning were eyewitnesses, and ministers of the word; 3 It seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write unto thee in order, most excellent Theophilus, 4 That thou mightest know the certainty of those things, wherein thou hast been instructed. 5 There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth. We know that Herod the Great died in 2-4 BC. Most Christians… [cont.]

A. ''We can conclude'' You shouldn't conclude anything that isn't expressly written in the scriptures as this is a self assuming character trait and reliant upon your own wisdom. 2 Timothy 3:1-2 . . .''But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming,. .'' . Proverbs 3:5 . . .''Trust in Jehovah with all your heart and do not lean upon your own understanding.'' The fact is , Jesus exact birth date is NOT found in the pages of the Bible. Anyone that claims this or that is doing so out of their own speculation from their own desires and is not following Biblical truth. For more Bible based information please feel free to email me.

Date of Jesus' baptism?
Q. Luke 3:1 "Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judea, Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, his brother Philip tetrarch of Iturea and the region of Trachonitis, and Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene..." But Lysanias ruled Abilene from c. 40 B.C.E until he was executed in 36 B.C.E by Mark Antony, about 60 years before the date for Tiberias and about 30 years before the birth of Jesus. Also, Herod died before April 12, 4 B.C.E. The date of Jesus' baptism seems unmoored in history by about 70 years. So what's happening here? I'm confident that the Bible literalists must have an answer for this, as always... OK, maybe there were two Lysaniases. But two Herrods? Another Herrod in 30 AD?

A. Wrong Lysianias. According to Josephus (Ant. xix.5, 1) the emperor Claudius in AD 42 confirmed Agrippa I in the presence of another Lysanias of Abila. Just as there were several "King Herods" in Israel, several "Pharaohs" in Egypt, several "King Henrys" in England, and more than one "President Bush" and "President John Adams" in the USA, so there was more than one ruler name "Lysanias" in Albila.

BIGGEST question to those who think the Bible is fiction...?
Q. What do you have to say about this... Make sure you scroll down...basically it goes from the kings of David, Solomon, etc (all of which is mentioned in the Bible) until the State of Israel (modern day). ALSO: Luke 3:1-6 Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judea, Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, his brother Philip tetrarch of Iturea and the region of Trachonitis, and Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene, while Annas and Caiaphas were high priests, the word of God came to John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness. And he went into all the region around the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins, as it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the… [cont.]

A. I'm with you buddy. I am a strong christian and do beleive in the bible. But the problem is... it's not weather you believe in the facts... its weather you beleive in God. God, with purpose, didn't give us all the facts we needed to fully verify his existence? Why? Because, the truth is, he wants it to be a matter of faith not fact. The only ways I can show ppl the bible and God are real is because of my own personal experiences. Harry Potter person... honestly, I am embaressed by that response. Was harry potter written 3 thousand years ago?

Can someone name me a 'sacred text' besides the Bible, Torah or Quran that contains historical facts?
Q. If we look at man's religions and see which ones contain historical truth in them, we can get closer to the truth. Obviously we don't want to be following the teachings of a book that sound like a fairy tale with no historical evidence. So what religions contain in their holy books facts? What books do not? When I talk about historical fact/evidence, I mean things like DATES, names of rulers at that time, names of places, etc. For example, Luke 3:1-6: Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judea, Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, his brother Philip tetrarch of Iturea and the region of Trachonitis, and Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene, while Annas and Caiaphas were high priests, the word… [cont.]

A. Prediction of the forecoming of Buddha from the Srimad Bhagavatam: TEXT 24 tata kalau samprav tte sammoh ya sura-dvi m buddho n mn njana-suta k ka e u bhavi yati translation then, in the beginning of Kali-yuga, the Lord will appear as Lord Buddha, the son of Anjan , in the province of Gay , just for the purpose of deluding those who are envious of the faithful theist. has an accurate date (beginning of Kali-yuga) and description of Buddha (how he supposedly deceived atheist believers by getting them to follow him, whilst in Hindu scripture he is an incarnation of god therefore they are following god)
