How different is the Community of Christ from LDS?
Q. What do you know about the Community of Christ (formerly Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints)? Are there any members here? What beliefs differ them from LDS?

A. Originally, the Community of Christ (RDLS) believed that the succession of the Church presidency did not go from Joseph Smith to Brigham Young, as the LDS believe, but that it went from Joseph Smith to his son Joseph Smith III. Therefore, one of the tenets of the RDLS is that the prophet goes from father to son. Interesting side note (but I am admittedly biased) is that when a recent prophet of the C of C did not have any sons, they went away from that tenet that was the reason for their break off in the first place. LDS believe that the Book of Mormon is on level with the Bible as the word of God. CofC have moved away from that and just say that the Book of Mormon is a good book to learn about God. Neither LDS nor CofC practice… [cont.]
